    Welcome to TFP.

In order to help, we would need some info from you about your pool.

What size is it? How many gallons? What type of construction (in ground or above ground; vinyl liner or concrete/gunite/plaster)? Do you have a GOOD test kit? If yes, what kit? What type and size of filtration/pump? These answers can be added to your signature in the User Control Panel.
15'x48" 4500 gallon Intex pool, buried 1.5 ft. Pac-Fab Dynamo 3/4 hp pump. Hayward S180T sand filter, bought used. Taylor K-2006 test kit. Rocket mass heater based wood fired pool heater.

    • 1. From the title of your thread, we know you are in Alabama. However, this may not be apparent on your next thread. Your climate is important to the advice you receive. Please add the state and nearest large city to where you live to your profile. By doing this, it will appear in all your posts without you having to enter it each time.

      2. Suggest adding information about your pool and related equipment in your signature. By doing this, it will automatically appear in all your posts so you do not have to re-enter it each time. If you have a SWG, please include those letters in your signature so it stands out as the advice for SWG vs. non-SWG is often different.

Here's how to do both of the above: Adding location to your profile and pool info to your signature.

A good test kit is an investment, not an expense.
