Skimmer performance with Variable Speed Pumps

Has anyone noticed a degrading of their skimmer's performance when using a variable speed pump and slowing it down in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations?

Sure. Skimmers need a certain minimum water flow to work correctly. Sometimes with a variable speed pump you need to experiment a little to find the minimum speed that will get the skimmer(s) to work correctly.

I've found this helps some when running at low speeds. It's about 24 inches long
