skimmer sock for algaea

Has anyone used a skimmer sock for keeping algae gunk out of their de filter? opening our swampy pool, getting better one day at a time, and the filter gets stopped up and loses pressure so quickly while its trying to handle all of the algae mess. opening up and cleaning and recharging de at least twice a day.. Just curious if the skimmer sock would aid in this problem?

*plan on using the skimmer sock all of the time, after we get things cleared up!

What color is the pool? Sometimes better to run in recirculate mode until the algae is dead and then filter it out to use less DE.

Its cloudy blue.

Ah. Well then most is likely dead already and you just have to suffer through the very efficient filtering of the DE filter.
