    Test Kit differences

Whats the difference between Leslie's FAS-DPD and DPD test kits. The descriptions are identical.

Or between the Taylor K2005 and K-2006?

The Leslie's DPD Complete Chlorine Kit and the Taylor K-2005 are essentially identical and both contain the DPD chlorine test. The Leslie's Chlorine FAS-DPD Service Test Kit and the Taylor K-2006 are essentially identical and both contain the FAS-DPD chlorine test.

The Leslie's Service Complete DPD Test Kit is the same as the Leslie's DPD Complete Chlorine Kit except that larger quantities of each reagent are included. It includes the DPD chlorine test.

The TF Test Kits TF-100 uses the same Taylor chemistry used in the Taylor K-2006, includes the FAS-DPD chlorine test, does not include the acid or base demand tests, and has much larger quantities of the various reagents in more sensible sizes.

The DPD chlorine test uses comparison to a color standard to measure FC and CC levels up to 5, or 10 with dilution. The test precision varies from about +-0.25 to +-3.0 depending on the value (higher values are less precise). The DPD test can read chlorine as zero if it is actually very high.

The FAS-DPD chlorine test uses titration, adding drops till the color changes, to measure FC and CC levels up to 50 or higher. The test precision is 0.5 or 0.2 depending on how you do it. I strongly recommend getting the FAS-DPD chlorine test. It is essential for testing high chlorine levels while shocking.

Except for the chlorine test and the acid/base demand tests, all of the other tests in the various kits are identical.
