    Stain in DEEP end

I need to apply Vitamin C to a stain in the deep end of my pool. I've read where people put it in a sock and weigh a rock down on it, but I can't swim all the way to the very bottom where it is. It is even on the sloped part where a rock wouldn't rest. Any other suggestion for how to rig it in the end of a pole or something so I can hold it there long enough to see if it lightens it?

Some C in a sock, tied to a string,
Hangs from a pole or a block or a rock,
Or a chair, at the edge of the pool on the deck.
Come back in a while and then you can check
To see if the C really can do
Ev'rything we are expecting it to.

A sock and a rock and a string.

A bleach jug makes a handy tie-off spot. You can nudge it around with the pool brush to get it right where you want it.
