Cracked Filter Housing

Hello,
I recently noticed by cartridge filter housing was leaking between the dome and filter housing. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a small crack about 1.5" in length. Is there a way to patch the crack or will I need to replace the entire housing? I have read some discussion boards of people with similar issues but rarely one for cartridge filters and at this location.

Filter housings are under significant pressure so when cracks appears (like yours) the best long term solution is to replace the cracked piece (if it is available).

If you want to tell us your current filter size and pool size, we can make recommendations on a new filter if you decide to replace the whole thing.
