how to clean the comparator for K2006 test kit

My comparator has accumulated a bit of cloudy residue over the years. Do you clean it out with a vinegar solution or something else? Thanks!

I'd try having it soak in some concentrated bleach or chlorinating liquid (not sure how long it would take) and then thoroughly rinse it out many times. You can always get a replacement tube if you can't get that one clean.

Try a bottle brush and soap.

I use muriatic acid. Make sure that the tubes are rinsed well before and after.
Just fill the tube, let it sit for about 20 seconds and pour out the acid.
    Be careful with acid.

Lab glassware is usually cleaned this way for the sort of testing we do here. You can dilute it down pretty far and it will still be very effective for cleaning glassware or plastics. And no, it will not harm either. Be careful, and remember...when making acid dilutions, Acid to Water....not Water to Acid. I use straight 31% straight from the bottle myself. Up to you....

ah yes, acid washing lab ware, how could I forget (well it's been about two decades since I last used a UV/Vis spectrophotometer and had to clean the cuvettes...) Thanks!
