I have an 18' summer escapes vinyl pool. The connections to its return and skimmer accept 1.5" corrugated tube that has a non-corrugated smooth section on the ends that you put a clamp on. This smooth part is molded right into the tubing.
like this: http://www.qualityinflatables.com/summe ... e-kit.html
I'm using an intex sand filter and seperate intex swcg this year. I bought these http://www.amazon.com/GAME-4550-Filter- ... B004TN6EEU adapters so that I could use that same type of hose with my new intex stuff that has proprietary intex screw on connections.
I used to have to fight leaks before adding the new sand filter/swcg with this type of hose but now I do it 3x as much. Clamp it too loose, it leaks, clamp it too tight, it leaks more somehow, rotate the clamp and tube around in various ways you could never reproduce again: its sealed. (for a while anyway)
I notice the pool store corrugated hose has its corrugations in a spiral and they have a connector that screws on, would that be better? Clamp down better to all my connections? Does that connector that goes on the ends need to be glued/sealed in some way?
Home depot and lowes are both supposed to have 1.5" i.d. vinyl tubing (they are all out the past few days) would that be better?
