Baby Doo Doo and Shock

Well, it was bound to happen. One month into our first swimming season, our 1 year old had diarrhea in his swim diaper and next thing I know, little fuzzy brown stuff is floating around me. :|

We just added the bleach to shock the pool, but was wondering - provided it passes the overnight test, how soon can the kids swim again? Do we have to wait for the FC to get back down to 5-ish?

This is the first time we've had to shock the pool, outside of the opening.

While it is safe to swim in pool up to shock level, I would be more prudent in your case and not allow anyone to enter until you had performed the OCLT and then I think I would tack on another 24 hours of shock value FC....sorta like belt and suspenders.....extra cautious.

I'd keep it at shock for at least 24 hours.
