Daily Chlorine Usage

This will be my first summer with a pool. Now that it has warmed up, the chlorine usage has increased - no surprises there.

My question ; what would be the (approx) expected chlorine usage be in the summer (in the UV capital of North America - Phoenix)?

assuming 82F+ water temperature and max sun: around 1 gallon of 6% bleach per day.

Greatly depends on your CYA level ...

Should be able to get to around 3ppm / day which would be 84 oz of 8.25% bleach

Is the ozone generator on? Because that will actually increase your FC losses. And given the amount of sun you have, it serves no purpose.

yeah - CYA level matters... mine is @ 30

Been using 10% chlorine
(whoever has it on sale) - Home Depot had it on sale recently so I picked up a few weeks worth

That is pretty low on CYA. I am getting larger FC losses than I like and my CYA is at 50ppm ... and I am raising it even more.
