hello, I am new to the forum, though not new to the pool school. this site and its members has helped us to go from a green swamp to a beautiful summer get-away right at home.
however, while using the vacuum for the first time this year, we lose prime in the pump. i don't see any air leaks in the hose, and suction is great. we have a new vacuum head and the opening steps down to a smaller connection than our previous head...is this restricting water flow? can this cause me to lose prime?

If you're losing prime there has to be air getting into the system somewhere. It could be anywhere along the system and hooking up the vacuum just exacerbates it. Check to see if there is air in the pump basket while the vacuum is hooked up.

The normal culrpits are the basket lid o-ring seal and the basket drain plugs. It could also be the vacuum adapter plate if you use one.
