Help GREATLY needed in the deep South

I am truly at the mercy of those who are willing to help with this issue.
I have had a GREEN pool for over 2 weeks now and I have shocked,
swept, vacuumed, back washed, etc. just as advised. No success.

Here are my latest readings:
PH is 6.8 (was 7.2 for over a week), CYA is 50 (was over 100),
FC is 10 (due to tremendous amounts of shock), TC is 10,
TA is 40, Total Hardness is 250

I'm beginning to wonder if my sand filter could be a problem.
My jet flow is strong and it back washes fine but I'm wondering
if the sand is an issue.
I've been using granulated shock but am willing to try the chlorine
bleach method as suggested by many here. I am open for suggestions.
Thanks in advance for any and all comments.

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you for posting meaningful test results. We will all help you get your pool crystal clear...promise.

It is not your sand filter...promise, again

While you have put "shock" in your pool, you have not been holding your chlorine HIGH ENOUGH OR LONG ENOUGH.

Please read two articles first. Read "The ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry" up in Pool School and then read "How to Shock Your Pool"

You will learn that to clear the pool once and for all you have to put a LOT of Chlorine (20 ppm in your case) into your pool all at once and then hold 20 ppm of chlorine in your pool at all times until your pool clears

Review those two articles and then post back when you are ready to start and we'll stay with you until your pool is crystal clear (promise that, too )

You say you have been using granulated shock, do you know what kind, there are several chemicals the pool industry sells as granulated shock, the most common are Cal-Hypo which adds both Chlorine and Calcium, and also Dichlor (or Trichlor) which adds both Chlorine and CYA, too much of either CYA or Calcium is very bad and can only be lowered by water replacement, this is the reason we strongly suggest only using liquid chlorine / bleach for shocking and general chlorination.

What kind of test kit are you using?

Thanks guys for the quick responses. I went back and read the ABC's and How to Shock your articles.
Very informative and helpful. I will go back and read them again and make notes.
I have been using Aqua Chem Shock Plus. (58.2% Sodium Dichloro-s-triazinetrione)
My pool is 20,000 gallons. duraleigh is recommending that my Chlorine level is to register and remain
at 20 ppm for a period of time. How much bleach do I need to add at this time?
Again, I will go back and read the articles. Any suggested amounts of BBB will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the encouraging responses and welcome to the forum. :-D :-D

After adding 6 gallons of bleach to the pool last night this is
what I'm seeing today. My test results today are basically the same
as last night but now I have a 24 FC reading. PH, CYA is all in
a good range. Notice that the shallow end of the pool is considerably
lighter in color. Is this due to the lesser amount of water in that end,
the fact that it's easier to brush and vacuum the shallow end, or both?
The water is not clear on the shallow end but cloudy. I'm just wondering
if I'm making progress since yesterday when the entire pool was the same
color from end to end.
Also, this can be seen at ground level and not just from upstairs.
And I'm still seeing this same effect 4 hours since the photo was taken.
