Welcome! Start off by reading pool school (button in the top right corner).

There are two things you need to do to your water - balance and sanitize it. It took me several readings for it to sink in. Then, start reading through the threads here, chances are, your questions have already been asked.
10,000 gallon inground, gunite, 500lb sand filter. Brand new to this pool thing.

Pool Mum is right. Check out Pool School and start reading. That's the first place you need to start. And while you're there, order a reliable test kit. Your questions have been asked a million times. The answers are in Pool School. Take special note to ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry. You will find other helpful info, if only you read it.

    Welcome to TFP.
I'd bet you my bikini you'll never get TFP water from a pool store!
