Has anyone tried Fruit Fresh for their AA treatment?

In the AA treatment posts, I read that Fruit Fresh could be used. My local store has 5 oz for a little over $3. That is a lot cheaper/oz than I paid for Stain Free. Has anyone given this a try?

Fruit Fresh contains dextrose, ascorbic acid, and citric acid. Both the ascorbic acid and the citric acid will help remove stains, but it isn't really ideal to put dextrose into your pool. Also, the price isn't as attractive as it at first appears, because the dextrose doesn't help and the citric acid is about half as effective as ascorbic acid. They don't give the proportions, but it is somewhere less than half as effective as ascorbic acid overall.

Makes sense. I wondered if the dextrose might be an issue. I thought both the ascorbic and citric acid together might be a good thing though. Chemistry and I have never been the best of friends!
