Sand still in Glass on backwash mode (First time used) newby

Hello All!

I am a bit of a newbie here. I have a question about the backwash mode. I am backwashing and most of the sand is gone from the glass but some still remains. It doesn't seem to want to go. In the mean time that pump shoots the water out like a fire hose. Does all the sand have to be out of the sight glass?

60 second in the rinse mode?

Too bad adapters weren't included to lengthen the pool hose so the water could be directed to a better location.

I have just a tiny bit in the glass on mine and it doesn't seem to bother my filtering. But I am not an expert.

You'll be just fine. You can unscrew that sight glass and empty it/wash it.

Thanks for the replies..much appreciated! Maybe its a case of not having the water in the sight glass cloudy?

A small amount is very normal. No worries, and you can get a longer backwash hose to put the water where ever you want. They are thin and light, lay flat when not in use so they are easy to roll up and store.

There's always a small amount of sand left in mine no matter how long I rinse afterwards too.
