Thoughts on light vs. dark surface?

I'm thinking of resurfacing my pool at some point in the future and am looking for some advice on going with a a dark vs. light surface. I'm guessing that a light blue surface will make my water appear bluer while a darker one will not, though the darker one will retain more heat and keep it warmer? Any other thoughts, pros/cons either way?

Some of the lighter colors can end up making the water look more green.

Darker surfaces will absorb more heat, but they will also radiate more heat, so depending on your location, amount of humidity (high night time humidity blocks the black body effect of the night sky limiting ability of objects to radiate heat, lack of this moisture in the atmosphere is why it can get very cold at night in a hot arid region) and a number of other factors the net gain or loss can vary.
