Mesh cover question -- 20x40 on 18x36 pool?

We're on the hunt for a used mesh safety cover, found someone on CL selling a 20x40, with end stairs like ours, for a great price. Our pool is an 18x36, though. Does anyone know if this will be an issue with these kind of covers? It's a Merlin brand.

*Edit -- the cover they're selling is FOR a 20x40 pool, so I assume it's more like 22x44 or something?

It will void the warranty (probably not an issue if buying used, not sure the warranty transfers anyway)

The other "issue" might be in the future if you go to replace it and cant find the same exact size, you'll be drilling anchor holes again. Also keep in mind Im guessing a used cover doesnt come with the anchors (since they are mounted into the concrete) so you'll need to buy them, and also make sure the springs are included and in good shape or you'll need some of them too.

Depending on the price it may still be a good deal, just keep these things in mind.
