    Best mulch for pool area?

I have a beautifully landscaped area around my concrete patio. Currently, i have that small dark pine bark in the beds and its a PITA since i have 2 kids and 2 dogs. Each time it rains, the bark floats to difft areas of the beds, and eventually ends up in the pool or on the patio. I am putting retaining stones around to help control it, but in North Texas the wind will eventually put the bark in the pool.

Id post pics, but ipad wont allow me to do so.

Any suggestions/insight is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
