    Chlorinator off high temperature

My chlorinator is off due to high temperature. I've tried to reset it by hitting the + on the Diagnostics menu, but it goes right back off. The temp on the panel says the pool water is 85 degrees, but I doubt that is accurate since our highs are around 85 and overnight lows are between 65 and 75 and the water just doesn't feel that warm. But, still I don't remember the chlorinator shutting off last summer because of high temperature.

    Salt is around 2900 - 3000.

Any recommendations on other things I should check?

    - 12' x 2.5' round
    - 1550 gallon
    - Cheesy piece of junk 4" paper filter with pump attched not good for anything
    - 1.5HP hayword pump with 29" x 9" paper filter sitting in my shed waiting to be hooked up
    - Insert your favorite "Tim the Tool Man" saying here
    - Picnic table on the side with a childrens "Step 2" slide and garden hose spraying it for the perfect redneck water slide
    - Very clear pool after I decided to do the BBB and ditch the starting kit from Wally World
    - Love the "BBB"!

Is the menu telling you the water is too hot? I haven't heard of that before. What brand and model of swg?
TFP Expert who uses Pool School and my TF100 test kit along with PoolMath for my: Round 11K gallon AGP with deep end, 20" sand filter, Matrix 1hp 2spd, 6 2ftX20ft solar panels (and solar cover!), Intex SWCG (copper bars disconnected) and a Rubadub hot tub (chlorine). The SLAM process is not finished until: 1. CC < 0.5 ppm, 2. An OCLT < 1.0 ppm and, 3. The water is crystal clear.
