I know I have asked a lot I questions today but I am trying hard. What is best way to clean cartridge filter? I've been hosing it off but when I run my fingers I between folds I come out with thick gray gummy stuff. I have no doubt this is helping cause my slow progress this year. Any way for me to have an actual clean filter?

Sounds like I may need to use muriatic acid. Very very scared to ruin my filter. Should I use dish soap first?

Especially since you are finding goo.
I read and re read advice after article. First thing I will do is buy a better nozzle. Think I will avoid acid treatment if at all possible.
