I've got a 1HP hayward Superpump that the motor just died on me today. While rummaging around in the garage, I came across an unused 1.5HP motor that I could slap on there. I'm wondering what people think, is that too much horsepower? I've got 1.5" plumbing, 2 skimmers, no maindrain and 3 wall returns in the pool.

Welcome to TFP!!!Using the large motor is fine, because you actually will still be using the existing 1HP impeller. So the larger motor will make the pump still behave similarly to your old 1HP motor.
