Pressure Gauge Problems?

Normally my pressure gauge runs at 12-13 psi. It started out there this year but through the pool opening process it has moved up to 20-21 psi. After backwashing and rinsing, it only drops down to 17-18 psi.

Is this something I should be concerned about? I called the pool store and they asked if I put the pressure gauge inside for the winter. I hadn't. They told me because of that I need a new pressure gauge. Wanted to check with my trusty pool forum before I changed the pressure gauge. Is there something else I need to be doing/checking?

Just went outside, turned it off and it drops to 5psi when off.

Time to replace it. They are cheap. i usually get mine at a farm store because they are better quality and you can get larger gauges. Just be sure to get the 0-60psi range rather than the 0-120 or 0-200psi ranges so it's easier to see minor pressure changes.
