    High TA reading

Here are my current test results
    FC 7
    PH 7.6
    TA 230
    CH 230
    CYA 40
My understanding is that TA should be around 70 to 90.Pool calculator does not suggest anything to reduce my high CH. Will the high CH cause any issues to my equipment.

Here are the instructions on lowering TA. http://www.troublefreepool.com/pool-...l%20alkalinity

There's a "Pool School" link at the top right of every page on TFP where most of the important info is cataloged.

    Good luck!

    Re: High TA reading

A whole sentence disappeared. The only way to lower CH is to drain and refill, provided that the water you put in is lower in CH. There are those who manage just fine with high CH by keeping their water balanced.

Slow down a bit, guys. The CH test result is 230....there is no reason to adjust it.

    Re: High TA reading

High TA can, but not always, cause your pH to rise.

If your pH stays pretty stable, leave TA alone. If your pH is constantly rising, reduce TA according to the article in Pool School.
