Salt cell needed

New to forum. We have a salt Jandy filter. Now, we need a new salt cell. We were putting cloring tablets till we could afford to fix it.
The problem also is brown and yellow stains which we cannot remove. We have tried treating the stains as per pool store advice. Can any one out there help.
I plan to buy a new salt cell soon and try and install it myself to save on labor.

Looks like your post got overlooked on the busy weekend.

Stains are either due to organics or metal.
Try rubbing a trichlor tablet on them, if they lighten, the stain is organic and elevated FC levels will remove the stains. If that has no impact, try crushing up some vitamin C tablets in a sock a putting it on the stain, if the stain lightens after a few minutes, then the stain is due to metals in the water.
