    a smidge harder. . .

I believe I can say the pool is now open. I had a little more difficulty this year than last. Seems my cover became porous over the winter, rain water/snow melt raised the level back to it's original height and a lot of "dirt, dust and debris" was settled on the bottom. The water was a good color but it was hazy. My DE filter did the job with several vacuumings and required several regenerations but no back-washing became necessary. I was fighting CC for almost twenty four hours but it finally read within range. So. .

    2 lbs Backing soda: $1.02
    4 lbs Calcium Chloride: $3.05
1 lbs Soda ash: penny's really
    2 gallons, 12.5% bleach: $5.98

28 oz. of cyanuric acid, to be added soon, from a discount store: $12.98

    FC - 12.0
    CC - .5
    pH - 7.5
    TA - 90
    CH - 165
    cya - 20

Water is crystal clear and sparkling.

Out of curiosity, why did you add calcium? There really is no need in a vinyl pool.

Sounds like you know what you are doing. And on a side note, your Bruins better win tomorrow. As a Devil fan, I am counting on them.

This is true but I feel a little better with it. More for metal fixtures and things.
