How Do I know what Model Hayward Filter I have?

My pool is 10 years old and all the tags have come off. I need to order a Part for my filter but I have no clue what model number it is.

Is there a way to tell? Its an above ground pool.

I have heard you have to measure it but where??

What type filter is it?

Sand filters are usually measured around the circumference, cartridge filters are usually measured by height or element size.

Its about 74 inches around the ball.
I need a new neck or I guess the whole top part. There is a crack in the collar.

I have been to the site and there are several that resemble mine. But the sizes say 18, 21, 24 inch and I was trying to figure out what they are measuring.

They're measuring diameter.

Circumference (~74") = 3.1416 X diameter (~24")

I'm guessing you have a 24" filter, maybe something like the S244.
