This morning I found a dead rodent in the pool. I think it was a mole, but am not sure. Is it important to shock, or do anything special when you find a dead squirrel/chipmunk/rat/mouse/mole or anything else in the pool?

I just fish the critter out and dump in an extra quart or so of bleach. It's not like it was in there dissolving for weeks.
A properly chlorinated pool...probably not. I would do like Richard320 does and that's about it.
Thanks. I added an extra gallon of bleach after I fished it out, so I intuitively did the same as you guys.
Oh, and don't tell the wife or the kids that you found a rat in the pool. That should be your little secret, otherwise they might not want to swim again.
