    Main Drain pipe angle......

    Hi Fellows,

This is probably a silly question , but on the pipe leading from the main pool drain to the pump, someone told me it needed to have a slight upward slope as it is being run from the drain to the pump. This person said this was necessary because it would alleviate trapped air bubbles and a possible clog. Is this correct, or can the pipe be laid absolutely level? Thanks for any response in advance....

    Welcome to TFP!

Interesting question and one I cannot really answer. I'm curious to find out about this one.

The pipe can be laid level. No reason that it needs to be sloped one way or another.

Ask the person for a reference to where they heard the information.
