air pump to force chemicals

In the aquarium world, I one time used an air pump to pressurize a canister to force a liquid into the tank through an airline. You varied the amount of time the pump ran to change the amount of liquid that got dispensed. Using check valves on both the in and out air lines allowed the canister to stay pressurized.

Any reason why this wouldn't work to dose chlorine into a pool?

Where do you plan on injecting the chlorine?

A pressurized container of chlorine doesn't sound exactly safe to me.
