Backwashing pool

Starting this season going to BBB. I am a new pool owner, last year was the first year. When backwashing the filter will the borax in the water kill the grass??

I have been backwashing my pool which has had 50 ppm borates for the last two years on my grass and it doesn't seem to cause a problem...however my grass was not great to start with.
