How do you shock the pool with liquidator? just use liquid bleach and put it on the highest setting?

The Liquidator doesn't really add bleach quickly enough to shock the pool. Best bet is to add the bleach directly to the pool slowly.
+1 what JohnT said. In fact, since shocking requires measuring your chlorine loss VERY carefully, I suggest you turn the liquidator off.
