According to the manual, this means you need service. According to Pentair, this means the unit's failure is imminent, but it's been that way for six months and it's still making chlorine. Has anyone else had the same experience? Or has anyone else ever cured the solid red power light?

It has exceeded its designed operating life but it doesn't mean it is not able to operate still. It's telling you that it may stop working correctly. See link below.

Just as a side note...if (when) it quits you should consider a IC 40. It can generate more and cycle on less and in theory, will last longer. By the way, how old is your cell? Is the red light being on a premature condition or does it probably have 10k hours on it?
Bought the house last winter and the cell was there so I don't know how old it is. My guess is that it's dying early, because every other dang thing in the house is dying early. :x
