DE in Sand Filter

Hello
Can I add DE to my sand filter while I'm shocking to help clear up the pool
Or should I wait till all is balanced
My test kit will be here Friday and I've been shocking since Monday
The pool is blue but very cloudy (way better than green)
Also is it ok to run the pump on low speed for 22hrs and then on high for 2hrs while I'm shocking
I hope so that's what I've been doing guess I should of asked sooner

Yes it's ok to add DE to the filter while shocking. Just be aware that it's going to clog pretty quickly depending on how much "stuff" is still in the pool.

And yes it's ok to run the pump on low. It will clear faster on high, but it's fine to run on low.

I would not bother until you are sure everything is dead and ready to be filtered out.

That should be fine with the pump speeds as it keeps the water circulated.
