Quick help on DE filter question please!!

So it's time for pool opening again!

Hopefully this year the opening will be less of a debacle than last year although I already know that we have issues which I will no doubt be posting about soon!

I need to quick help now though. We have a DE filter and replaced a couple of the pieces last year. Others are broken and need replacing - we were getting a small amount of DE in the hot tub last year.

The filter is:

Purex Triton 4000 series
SM/SMBW/-4048

One pool guy is saying we can just replace the broken 'wings'. The other guy says we need to replace them all. Which is it???

Thanks so much for your help - we need to decide this afternoon what to do.

You certainly can just replace the bad grids, but if they're all pretty old you might be better off replacing them all. Which parts did you replace last year. I certainly wouldn't replace those so soon.

That is pretty high. Ebay has most grid sets for under $150.

You should certainly learn to DIY as you should be disassembling and cleaning the grids every year anyway.
