Just getting started with a fresh tap water refill this year on a gunnite pool.
Trying to figure out the optimal plan for adding chlorine. I posted something similar yesterday on the algae topic, though the main suggestion there seemed salt water chlorine, and I'd rather not go that way
The challenge is the pool is a beach vacation rental with a very heavy swimmer load. In the past my pool guy mostly used pucks and as expected the cya goes sky high....followed by algae
Curious if any pros, in working with high use, beach rental pools, have had success with combination approaches like:
A) 1/2 pucks and 1/2 cal-hypo ....or
B) 1/2 pucks and 1/2 12% liquid bleach ...or
C) all 12% liquid bleach administered just TWICE weekly, (as opposed to using an injection pump)
We know we need to keep the cya, and calcium in balance (among others) and just trying to see what others have found to work with very high swimmer loads.
Suggestions and shared experiences, much appreciated!
