Through the wall skimmer - above ground Intex pool

I want to add a through the wall skimmer to a 20 foot round Intex above ground pool. Would a wide mouth skimmer be okay for this size pool or would a standard skimmer be better? Concerned if a wide mouth skimmer is too wide of a mating flat surface for a circular pool. The standard size skimmer may be sufficient for the job.

Can the upper horizontal cutout in the liner for the skimmer be made just below where the liner top rail overlap end is inside the pool?

A wide mouth skimmer will be fine on a 20' pool.

@spiderman21010, I ended up getting the standard size Hayward skimmer from Amazon and it works awesome. I too was unsure if the wide-mouth variety would be too wide, so I aired on the side of caution. Here's the one I got:
