Solar pump question

Will a 1 hp pump be enough to lift water 9 feet to supply solar panels?

Mine does.

EDIT: But there are other things to consider like the rest of the plumbing and equipment that leads to head loss and flow rates.
That said, mine is a large setup and a long way from the equipment and pool through 1.5" pipe, so it is pretty "worst case". I think Mark uses a 3/4HP pump with solar.

Probably, but there are a few factors missing there, different models of pumps have different flow curves that vary with amount of head, also how many panels are you talking about, because while it is likely most (all) 1 HP pumps will lift water high enough, the question is will it do it with enough flow.
