Filter upgrade

I am thinking about upgrading my filter (look at my signature). I am thinking about the Hayward S310T2. My questions are.

1. Is my pump ok to handle this filter?
2. What about going from 1.5" to 2" connections, any issues with this?
3. What are the advantages of upgrading my filter?

1. Sure.
2. Larger pipe will reduced headloss and increase flow rate.
3. Reduced filter cleaning frequency.

For your size pool, we would generally recommend at least a 5.6 sqft sand filter which is a 32" filter. Shorter seasons can get by with smaller filters.
