    algae on my mesh cover

My closed pool has algae on the mesh cover. What can I do for this? I plan to open pool and start shocking next week.

What kind of pool do you have?
Does the water drain off the cover into the pool or outside the pool?

If the water drains off the pool, take a weak bleach/water solution and clean it off and then rinse it well.

Water drains into the pool and the pool is so full the cover is under an inch of water. I peeked under the cover and the water is green.

Sorry I missed that it was a mesh cover.

If the water under it's green too, just take it off and start the shock process as soon as you test and adjust the pH.
