What does a pool service actually do?

We have a pool in AZ and live in Canada and have a service that is cleaning our pool. What exactly should I expect? They sweep, vacuum, clean the skimmer - do they run the pumps /fire up the heater etc to check things out?

A separate question - our neighbor had a different service cleaning their pool and they found out the company hadn't even been servicing the pool regularly - they would come out and tune it up just before our neighbors visited. I was wondering if the screenlogic system would show the pumps/heater being activated etc so we would know when the pool service had been there?

They should as a minimum, make sure the pool is chlorinated, check and adjust the pH, brush, clean skimmer baskets, vacuum, and make sure the pump runs. Any more than that is dependant on the particular agreement.

Agreement should spell out what chemicals are included.
