Pool Salt Question

Our pool will hopefully be built in June this year (Toronto).

Saw bags of pool salt at Costco for $6.89 each. They are Windsor brand and 22.kg each.

Is that a good deal? How much do people pay for salt? If it is, how many bags would one use per season? Want to load up if it makes sense as items at Costco don't stay for long on the shelf...

Thanks!!

Is the pool 3 feet deep or 10 feet deep? What is the volume?

If I assume an ave depth of 4' then the pool would be around 15k gallons. To go from 0ppm to 3200ppm would be 400 lbs = 10 bags. Then likely each year you may need 1-2 bags to maintain the level.

Check out poolcalculator.com ... it figures this out for you.

OOPS: converting for you:
182 kg = 8.25 bags (since yours weigh more than ours apparently @ 22kg)

Great!!! Thanks!!

I had no idea that we didn't need so many. So "maybe" 10 for starting and just a couple every year... Cool!
