Have a Hayward EC 50 DE filter with the finger's ... when I do a complete cleaning of the system including the fingers and then restart it works great ... about 2 - days later I see that my pressure gage shows an increase of about 20 points which i was told indicates it needs a backflush ... does not help to any extent .. when I reopen my filter and look at the fingers I see the majority of the DE has accumulated at the top of the filter against the part that holds the fingers .. I can now clean the system once more and it works Ok for a short time, then the same thing happens ... have even decreased the amount of DE to 2 #'s to make sure I am not over loading it ... what am I doing wrong and and / or why is this happening ????

Often when DE filters clog up often its a sign of poor water quality. What does your water look like? Any test results??? Also, read this write up on DE filters. All could be well, and a simple over site is causing an issue.
