What kind of algae is this and best way to treat it

At a distance it looks almost black but up close it is a dark green. What is the best course of action with this algae.

Scrub it and follow the shocking process in pool school. Please post a set of testing results for further help and your pool specs.

It just looks like plain green algae to me. Black algae is usually little black dots. Treatment is brush and bleach. You'll need to raise the bleach to shock level and perform the shock process.

You'll need the right test kit. Have you read Pool School?

Yes I have the TF-100 test kit just got it yesterday. Wanted to make sure it was not black algae which requires a much more aggressive approach.
