Sand filter seems to have air in it.

Not all filters have a bleeder, but it they do you can open it slightly and purge the air while runnign the pump.

If your hayward sand filter has the multivalve on the side (not top mounted) then the bleeder is on top of the filter, its a black wingnut type knob. If you have a top multivalve, I'm not sure your filter has a bleeder.

Others with more knowledge will chime in on that.
