Make above ground pool deeper

Just purchased an AGP its a 30' Round Atlantic Pool Olympia model. The contractor told me he could dish out the pool to a gentle slope towards the center so we could get a few extra inches of water depth. The pool will have a uni-bead liner with the J-hook connection.
Has anybody here done this before? The salesmen at the pool store said it will void the warranty on the liner, but said lots of people do it and he has heard of no problems. I was only looking to get no more than 6 to 8 inches of extra depth. I heard about expandable liners, but the cost will be much more than standard liner supplied with the pool.

Is there enough extra liner to do this. I always thought it had to be an expandable liner to do this.

Your liner will stretch that much. More than a foot would be worrisome, but it would do it.

Thanks for the responses, just was wondering if anybody here has tried it. I also read somewhere also that anything over a foot would be too much.

There has been more than one thread discussing this subject. I would search "AG pool" and "deeper" to see if you can find them. To my knowledge, all were successful.
