I have a inground 16x32 pool with a crystal flo sand filter says model T-170BP-1 says 150lbs sand capacity. My pool is roughly 22500. Should I upgrade? Seems like the turnover is about if not exceeding 12hours

We would generally recommend at least a 4.2 sqft sand filter for your pool. So at the minimum a 27" filter.

I would go with whoever has the most dealers in the area. That improves your chance of them having a part in stock in case od emergency.

For cartridge filter, we would recommend a minimum of about 320 sqft, so that is much too small.

We actually usually recommend double the size in the chart for cartridge and DE filters to reduce frequency of cleaning.
Smaller would certainly work however you would have to clean more often.

Well I had to upgrade my pump and now I have a 1hp 2 speed. What would be my turnover rate with my current filter running at low speed?
You should have a pump curve with the documentation of the pump or the curve should be on the manufacturer's website.....that'll tell you your rough gpm.
