Filter sizing

Hi All

I have a commercial pool with a Cartridge filter looking to convert over to a sand filter. I spec'd out a Pentair Tr-140c to replace it but I'm thinking maybe it is over kill for this pump. Should I go with Pentair Tr-100, Any thoughts?

38,768 gallons,
Pentair Whisperflo 2hp Sf 1.30.
turnover of 6 hours (106 GPM)
2" piping

Go with the TR-140. I have a 1.5 hp pump with a TR-140 and the combo is great.

A TR-100 will be too small for your pump.

I am with duraleigh on this, our recommendation would be a minimum 7.2 sq. ft. sand filter...the TR140 is 7.1 sq. ft....close enough.
