Liner Installation, questions about bead receiver.

I should have taken pictures to show..I can provide those in a few days. I did a bid today on replacing a liner and the previous company installed a new bead receiver underneath the original one which is built into the coping. There seems to be nothing wrong with the original one but I'll inspect it closer when I do all my measurements on Monday. The new bead receiver holds the liner differently. Instead of the liner hanging vertically, it hangs horizontally and bends down creating a lot of pressure on the liner. It tore apart in several areas and he says this is the 2nd one in 4 years. Was that receiver installed incorrectly? Should I remove the second bead receiver and use the original coping one if it appears strong and clean? I've never seen anything like it before on liner installations.

If the original is in good shape and sound you should definitely use it. If the bead tends to slip out of it you can use liner lock on it.
