Bleach, Baking Soda, Borax, Tennis Ball?

Soooo...I was vacationing in Costa Rica last week, and the small hotel where we stayed had an inground concrete tiled pool. The hotel owner said that he has been told that a few new tennis balls in the pool can help "skim" sunscreens and other oils from the top of the pool water. The problem is he can't get tennis balls in the small village he is located. Anyone do this?

p.s. I found his test kit and tested the water a couple of times...haha! The wife told me I was crazy...results not worth posting...

Yep, tennis balls work pretty well for a while at absorbing sun tan oils.

Bring him one of these the next time you visit. They work.

It's the BBBTB Method...I like it. I told him I would investigate and send him some tennis balls.

    Thanks.

I don't know about everyone, else but I want to know what the test results were for that pool you found in a far away land.

Isn't it such that as long as you're following the BBB method and you have a proper filtration system, that you shouldn't need anything like that?

Wouldn't the tennis balls constantly end up in the skimmer?

It still does its job then since all the water should cycle through the filter at least once a day.

Won't a rubber duckie do the same thing?
Going around the pool and getting caught in the skimmer that is.
