Pentair CCP520 maintenance

I'm getting ready to put my pool equipment back in service, and I'm not sure about the state of the filter. The cartridges are two years old and are a little ragged, with discoloration from the chlorine (I assume). Are they beaten up enough to need replacement? Also, there's a small metal mesh filter at the top of the PVC pipe in the middle of the filter that's torn. Should this doohickey be replaced?[attachment=075ppgdd]s1.jpg[/attachment75ppgdd]

Those cartridges don't look bad, they just need a good soak cleaning. There's an article in Pool school on how to clean them.

Yeah the screen should be repaired or replaced.
